Six Easy Car Care Tips for the Spring Season

Keeping your vehicle looking and performing well is incredibly important not only to its appearance but also to its performance and safety; the seasons are changing and the temperatures are on the rise, and that means it's time for some spring cleaning! If you're not sure where to begin, we've put together a quick list of 6 car care tips for spring and we think they'll get you off to a good start. Whether you're cruising in a new Buick, GMC, Volkswagen, or Volvo model, or anything from our used vehicle selection, you'll surely head into the new season with much more confidence behind the wheel after performing these basic services. Let's take a look:

  1. Wash and wax the exterior of your vehicle. Dirt and salt from the roads can cause a lot of problems with your paint and with rust, so scrub your car down from top to bottom.
  2. Similarly, clean out your cabin as well. A whole winter's worth of dirt, garbage, and assorted items can clutter up even the nicest vehicle, so organize and empty until it feels like a new ride again.
  3. Consider getting new windshield wipers. Snow and ice from the winter can chew up the soft rubber on your wipers so, if they're leaving streaks or large un-wiped areas, a new set is a good idea.
  4. Take a look under the hood. Cold weather can cause cracks in pipes and belts, or leave them brittle, so take a look and see if anything needs some servicing or replacing.
  5. Check your tire pressure. Warm air expands so, if your tires were pressurized properly for cold temperatures, they may need to be rechecked.
  6. Have your alignment and suspension checked. All the cracks and potholes that form on the roads in cold weather aren't good for driving over, and they could have damaged your suspension or thrown off your alignment.

If you need assistance with any of these steps, or you'd like to have your vehicle get some routine maintenance or repairs you've been sitting on for a while, now is a great time to schedule a service appointment with us. We look forward to serving you soon and giving you the on-road confidence you deserve.
